ILLUMINATE – God’s Provision in a Dark World

You are given a task to arrange a dark scattered room, how will you go about it? What will you do first? I’m guessing you will turn on the light or look for a light source.

Have you ever wondered, “why can’t the world become a better place?” We’ve watched the world be overridden by wickedness and selfishness. Why can’t this all change?

At the beginning of creation, God did the same, the world was FORMLESS, EMPTY AND DARK. When God started creating he did not start by giving the world a form first. He started by causing illumination, showing the importance of light. It was a strategic move to indicate that the first thing we need is the LIGHT.

“Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.” Gen 1vs 2-3 NIV

“In him was LIFE, and that LIFE was the LIGHT of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:4 NIV

In Him was LIFE and this life is the LIGHT that shines in us. Just as God spoke light into the world when we confess (with our mouth) that Jesus Christ is our saviour we speak in light to our lives. We exchange our old life for a new LIFE (rebirth), and this new life we have expresses Jesus (the light) in us. The first step in our walk with God through life course is speaking the light into us. With the Light we have we overcome all forms of hurdles that life brings. Darkness can never overcome the light. Light will always outshine darkness.

Matthew 5 vs 14-15 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.”

Light is something that makes vision possible. In the absence of light vision is impaired. Possible obstacles or hindrances can not be removed hence we stumble on things. At igninitio, God spoke light into the world to stop this from occurring. We were born in sin (darkness) and now in Christ (Light) so all obstacles and hindrances are removed because our path shines bright.

Just as Jesus is the light and we have him in us as Christians so we lighten the World. We are the light of the world! You can not put a light in a dark room and expect the room to remain dark, I bet you if it does you will probably return the bulb. It’s the same scenario with Christians, we have the Light and we are the light of the world but most of us do not illuminate this Light to the world. We hide so many potentials in us so we can fulfil our desires. Light shows a path, if we say we accept Christ (THE LIGHT) then our path changes to where his light is taking us to. We are no more to be hidden but to shine forth and light up the world.

Matthew  6:22  “The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.”

We were formed in darkness from the beginning just as the world was in darkness. We were convicted by the holy spirit and as Christians, we received the light. The new creature does not stop, God keeps on moulding us to be like Him daily killing the flesh and us growing daily in the spirit. If we have received the revelation of who the light is and the eyes of our understanding be open then we are full of light. Then we are like Christ! No more like darkness. Most times we expect a big miracle from God meanwhile SELF hinders the miracle. We always prioritize SELF, to what God has for us.

Matthew 5 vs 16 NIV “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your GOOD DEEDS and glorify your Father in heaven.”

We are in a dark world covered with gross wickedness in need of our light! We can’t stay hidden, we radiate Christ in us, we lighten the world, we spice the world. We are to shine before others so that they will see Christ in us and be amazed of God in us.

Ever wondered how we will radiate this light in us?

GOOD DEEDS

Our good works shows the light. It is the manifestation of the light in us.

John 4 vs 19; NIV “This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.”

When we receive the light our works becomes good. We reflect what our father has for us, we pick up the new man. Our works and acts becomes GOOD, we show forth the LIGHT we have in us.

Verse 21 of the above scripture says: But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

Jesus introduced Himself as the WAY, the TRUTH, the LIGHT, paraphrasing the above scripture will be read like this “but whoever lives by JESUS comes into the LIGHT so that we can manifest good works!” That is through Jesus, I radiate the Light in me through my good works and Illuminate everywhere I go. The light in me through Christ Jesus can not be hidden. By living through Christ I look like Him daily. I drop habits, my fallow grounds are broken, I am moulded into the image of Christ by living by the truth (Jesus), not by my strength, no effort I just live in Christ! As easy as it is to breathe without thinking, as you become transformed by greater fellowship, you live like Christ.

This is what we represent, our GLOW should be THE LIGHT of God which is JESUS in us. Imagine a hardened murderer becoming a loving and compassionate father and friend someone to look up to in society, not pretence but true change. This is the work of God by putting Christ in us. So if you ask me, you are God’s greatest miracle! Not just to yourself, but to the world, for them to see.

You can not enjoy this if you do not have Christ in your, you can not model what you do not have, to accept Christ please say this prayer.

“Dear Lord, I accept that you are Christ and you died for my sins. I need you to be the Lord over my life and save me, thank you Lord for accepting me. In Jesus name, Amen.”

Welcome to the folk of Christ, you are now a living miracle!

We Illuminate together ❤
